River North Residences custom Art Program

Tim Klein was commissioned by the developer of a residential property in Chicago’s River North to curate a large-scale photography collection for the building’s hallways and common areas. The result is a cohesive body of nearly 100 works, selected to complement the architecture and enhance the overall atmosphere of the space.

The artwork reflects this balance—merging industrial edge with organic detail and a sense of place. Artwork sizes range from 16" x 20" to 60" x 60", each piece chosen and placed with the flow and function of the building in mind.

The development—a former warehouse now transformed into contemporary apartments—retains industrial character while offering modern finishes and amenities. The artwork echoes this contrast, blending visual structure with warmth and a strong sense of place.

Klein worked directly with the developer to curate the selection, providing all digital files for licensing. From there, the project team handled all printing and framing, tailoring the materials and finishes to suit each location within the building.

Located in the heart of River North, the property offers residents access to some of Chicago’s best dining, shopping, and entertainment. The art program adds another layer of identity—bringing moments of reflection, visual interest, and connection to the everyday experience of the people who live there.
