Millhouse : Custom Photography for a Pacific NW Community
Millhouse on the Waterfront blends bold design with Vancouver’s historic paper mill legacy and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. This modern apartment community draws inspiration from its industrial roots while celebrating the region’s iconic landscapes.
To capture that spirit, photographer Tim Klein traveled across Washington to produce a site-specific collection of imagery. His journey included Mt. Rainier, Rooster Rock, Mt. Adams, Willapa Bay, Lake Quinault, Long Beach, Olympic National Forest, Cannon Beach, Beacon Rock, and the Columbia Gorge—all within a day’s reach of the property. These Pacific Northwest locations provided the backdrop for 40 unique photographs, carefully curated to reflect the character and setting of Millhouse on the Waterfront.
Each image was reproduced and framed to create over 200 finished pieces, ranging in size from 24x18 to 48x24 inches. The artwork was printed on traditional photography paper, mounted behind plexiglass, and presented in simple black frames. The clean, modern presentation enhances the organic textures and scenic depth of the landscapes while aligning with the property’s architectural aesthetic.
Installed throughout the building’s hallways and common areas, the work brings the outdoors in—offering residents a visual connection to the region they call home. The collection is both bold and refined, telling a story of place through thoughtful photography and purposeful design.
