Arthouse Loop Photography & Art for a South Loop Landmark
Just steps from the Art Institute of Chicago, Arthouse Loop reimagines a vintage office building as a modern apartment community centered on art, design, and storytelling. Reflecting its creative surroundings, Tim Klein curated and contributed a collection of photography, illustration, and vintage works that span cultures and time periods.
The centerpiece is Klein’s Vida Mia series, inspired by his time in central Mexico. Focused on traditions and everyday life, the work reflects themes of heritage and identity.
Klein also included pieces from his artwork archive—landscapes and urban scenes—paired with antique pieces and contributions from other artists. He collaborated with creatives whose work echoes the energy of art school studios, licensed select illustrations from a celebrated artist, and developed the “XO” series in partnership with a local talent.
The artwork appears throughout the building in a range of formats and finishes, from framed photo paper to large-scale prints on plexiglass and Dibond metal. Works range in size from 35" x 50" to nearly 70" wide, adding visual impact to shared spaces.
Arthouse Loop brings together history, place, and expression in a way that’s approachable and dynamic. The result is an environment that celebrates Chicago’s creative legacy while offering residents a meaningful connection to art in everyday life.

XO Collection
The XO series is a collaboration with Chicago painter, Joe Stuart. Stuart has always been fascinated with the architecture of David Adler whose austere residences can be found all over the North Shore. The perfect symmetry of Adler's structures are beautifully captured in black and white photographs and then delightfully disrupted with colorful, playful forms.
