This series of still life photographs by Tim Klein explores the quiet poetry of the objects people own—and what those objects reveal. From solitary items to repeating patterns, each image captures everyday scenes with a sharp eye for composition, color, and light. Shadows, reflections, and graphic arrangements play a central role, turning the mundane into something meaningful or even humorous.
Part of Still Life, the photographs were taken across diverse locations—Iceland, New York, Japan, Egypt, Belize, North and South Korea, the DMZ, and more—blending cultures and contexts into a cohesive visual study. Some scenes offer a meditative simplicity, while others invite curiosity or a smile through unexpected juxtapositions.
Whether it's bolts of fabric, a mosaicked floor, lost gloves looking for their mate, or broken ornaments from a fallen Christmas tree, each photograph invites the viewer to pause and look closer. This is a still life series about presence, pattern, and the quiet character of things.
